TTM Dodgers...Cey/Russell/Lopes/Garvey

After 6-1/2 months, this project has been completed!!!  Sent to Ron Cey on 8/23/2010...received back on 8/31/2010.  Sent to Bill Russell on 9/1/2010...received back on 9/14/2010.  Sent to Steve Garvey on 10/12/2010...received back 10/21/2010.  Mr. Garvey included a hand-written note on personal stationary asking if I would care to donate to his foundation, Youth Baseball of Palm Desert.  I graciously sent a modest donation.  Davey Lopes was a different story.  I purposely sent to Mr. Lopes last because he does not have a good TTM success rate.  I was basically hoping that, by seeing the other signatures, he would grant my request.  I initially sent the photo to the Phillies, where at the time he was their first base coach.  The photo was sent on 10/27/2010.  Five days later, on 11/1/2010, the Phillies released Mr. Lopes.  At that point, I figured my project was a loss.  On 3/12/2011, I received a SASE with a Florida return address.  I was a little puzzled because I hadn't sent anything to Florida.  I opened the envelope and there it was...my Dodgers picture...not signed by Mr. Lopes.  Inside the envelope, there was a hand-written note stating: "Mr. Lopes is no longer with the Phillies.  Try sending it to Dodgers Stadium.  Sorry for the inconvenience and good luck!".  Overly excited, I immediately went to the computer to type a letter to Mr. Lopes, addressed to the Dodgers.  I included the whole story of the travels of the picture as well as a couple of his career highlights.  I sent out the letter and picture on 3/14/2011.  On 4/1/2011, I received the picture back...signed!!!
